Birth Center Services and Midwifery Care in Palmdale and Lancaster, CA

Antelope Valley Birth Center offers Collaborative Low Risk Care.

Prenatal Care

Stands as a cornerstone of the midwife's services for expectant mothers, encompassing a comprehensive approach. This approach involves a series of regular check-ups, encompassing the use of blood tests and ultrasounds, aimed at monitoring both the mother's well-being and the growth of the baby. These appointments also create a platform for discussing various birthing options and strategies while providing essential guidance on fostering healthy pregnancy practices.


Homebirth, birth center, and water birth are available to healthy pregnant people expected to have normal labor and birth.


Includes:


  • Routine and non-routine visits with your Midwife
  • Referrals
  • Counseling for a safe and satisfying pregnancy


Instruction and education on choices for screenings and procedures available during pregnancy.


Families can expect to have 15 prenatal visits and 4 postpartum visits. Visits start at 4 week intervals until 28 weeks, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks, every week until birth.


(laboratory and ultrasounds will be billed to insurance/or cash pay by client)


ALL first-time homebirth/center birth families are recommended to have a childbirth education course. Please ask for available classes in your area, all classes are pre-screened to meet my expectations and standard of education.

Labor and Birth

Holistic midwives often provide continuous emotional and physical support during labor and childbirth. In summary, a midwife's labor and birth support encompasses vigilant fetal monitoring, personalized maternal assessments, adept handling of complications, and seamless care for newborns. This holistic approach ensures the safety, well-being, and emotional empowerment of both mother and child during this transformative journey.


The Midwife and a trained assistant will attend your birth, provide all necessary procedures to keep mother and baby safe,

provide postpartum care including suturing for 1st and 2nd degree tears.


  • A Newborn exam as well as care plans for mother and baby will be performed.
  • Birth certificate and recommendations for follow up care will be discussed

Postpartum Care

Midwives extend their care beyond childbirth by offering postpartum support. This involves monitoring the physical and emotional recovery of the mother, addressing breastfeeding challenges, and providing guidance on newborn care.


  • 3 visits are routine, 3-5 day, 2 weeks, and 6 weeks.
  • Postpartum visits are done in the comfort of your home for the first 5 days. We want new families at home bonding with their new baby, not sitting in waiting rooms.
  • Each visit involves a complete evaluation of the Mother and Baby, breastfeeding support, and postpartum support recommendations.
  • Birth Certificate and SSN information is provided.
  • Full report is faxed to the newborns Pediatrician
  • PAP and Family Planning provided at 6 week exam if desired

Well Women Care

Holistic well-woman care provided by a midwife is a comprehensive and patient-centered approach to women's healthcare that focuses on addressing physical, emotional, and social aspects of a woman's well-being throughout her life. This approach goes beyond merely addressing medical concerns and aims to create a supportive and empowering environment for women to take control of their health. Well woman care services offered by a midwife encompass:


- Annual Exam: Comprehensive yearly check-ups tailored to a woman's life stage, focusing on overall health and addressing specific concerns.


- Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings: Regular screenings to detect potential issues early, promoting breast and cervical health, and aiding in cancer prevention.


- Family Planning: Personalized guidance on contraception options and family planning strategies.


- Nutrition and Lifestyle Counseling: Expert advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition, exercise, and self-care practices.

We also have a third-party medical financing company to refer you to for payment options.

 


We no longer accept Medi-cal and do not offer any discounts. You can apply online with United Medical Credit for funding.



Consultations

Midwifery care is affordable. We provide many options for payment as well as have financing options. You will need to schedule a one-on-one consult to determine if you are a good candidate for Midwifery care.

The Antelope Valley Birth center located In Lancaster. We also provide Home birth services through out the Antelope valley, Tehachapi, Ridgecrest areas.

The Antelope Valley Birth Center is the only facility with a water birth suite in the High Desert area.
